Otwarta Pracownia Sztuki - The Gallery of Art in Legnica, Lower Silesian, Legnica

Open Art Studio (OPSz), run as part of the activities of the Gallery of Art in Legnica, has for over a decade been a place bringing together young people and adults interested in actively participating in the cultural life of the city. It focuses on promoting contemporary art by engaging participants in workshops, meetings, happenings, and volunteer activities. OPSz is a space for communication and education within the visual arts, offering a combination of substantive knowledge about contemporary art and hands-on creative practice that helps reduce the distance between artists and audiences. We propose an alternative way of spending free time — without the use of the Internet or social media.

At the Open Art Studio, we organize art workshops alongside an open space for reading, drawing, painting, and relaxed creative time. Participants can choose whether they want to take part in the planned workshops or simply spend time reading or working independently. Throughout each session, one of our instructors — professional artists and educators — is always available for guidance and support.

The techniques we work with include, among others: papier-mâché sculpture, pencil and colored pencil drawing, dry pastel, and easel painting.
